Case studies
Vattenfall tendered to open market for the design, supply and install of a floating berthing facility for CTVs in Aberdeen Harbour. ICMS won the competition and further developed the design with Vattenfall. The pontoon was to be moored via driven piles off the quay wall to maximise space efficiency, and to have suitable M&E equipment to adequately service the vessels
Contract type: Job/Clent specific - D&B
Value: 510000
We developed the initial concept to a fully fledged design and manufactured in our base in Ireland, transported to site and installed. We designed and managed the install of 3No. 24m long x 24m CHS pile (designed and installed under subcontract by Arch Henderson and ABCO Marine respectively) and also installed M&E including high level task lighting through our subcontractor RMCS. The pontoon was designed to match specifically the freeboard of the CTV and O&M vessels (1m) and has a high strength rubber D fender and is designed to be used in all weather conditions in the harbour
We are currently building a pontoon for Moray East Offshore Wind Farm in Fraserburgh, ICMS were successful in tendering for this work in 2019 and provided an initial design phase to the client in order to aid with their overall design for the O&M base and to help in liaisons with the Fraserburgh Harbour Board who leased the land to MOWL for the project
Contract type: Job/Client Specific - D&B
Value: 586500
We completed the design of the entire berthing facility, including pontoons with 1m freeboard for ease of access for CTVs, for up to 4 CTV vessels (berthing alongside and rafted), moored to the quay wall using H-piles. ICMS are also supply a substantial M&E package, including a 40,000L fuel tank with cloud enabled dispensing unit, potable water storage tanks on the quay, electrical supply points for the vessels as well as high level task lighting. We have a lot of ongoing interactions in our designs and construction with the client as well as other contractors, suppliers and harbour authorities, including for example a port crane which will operate at the pontoon but will be supplied by a third party supplier
